Over 70 programs will be operated, including startups and global investment institutions, for 3 days from September 21 (Wed) to 23 (Fri)

LOS ANGELES, CA, September 10, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ — From September 21 (Wed) to 23 (Fri), the Seoul Metropolitan Government will host “Try Everything 2022,” a grand festival for global startups, where members of the startup ecosystem, including promising startups, large and medium-sized companies, and investors and accelerators from all over the world come together. It will be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) for three days. For the first time in three years, it will be held as an offline festival where companies, investors, and general visitors can join.

Following the global startup festival ‘Startup Seoul: Tech Rise’ held in 2019 by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to revitalize the startup ecosystem, ‘Try Everything’ reflects the entrepreneurial spirit of startups that ‘try everything without fear of failure’. It has been held every September under the name of ‘Try Everything’, which symbolizes startups’ entrepreneurial spirits.

Despite the COVID-19 crisis, 1,434 promising startups, 549 global startup ecosystem experts, and 150 investment companies participated from 21 countries including the US, Canada, UK, and France online and offline in 2020-2021 and shared their successful know-hows and investment attraction strategies.

The major worldly famous speakers who participated were John Hennessy (Chairman of Alphabet, Google’s parent company), Stephan Trojansky (CEO of Scanline VFX), Jason Shenker (Chairman of Futurist Institute), Ban Ki-moon (8th Secretary-General of the United Nations), Jack Ma (Founder of Alibaba Group) and Marc Randolph (co-founder of NETFLIX).

The programs of the 2022 ‘Try Everything’ specializes in a total of 70 different startups, including large and medium-sized companies-startup open innovation, investor-startup investment attraction (IR) pitching, and startup trend lectures by domestic and foreign celebrities. It plans to promote the vitalization of the Seoul startup ecosystem through the participation of various startup ecosystem players such as large global companies, investment institutions, unicorn companies, and media outlets.

From July 1st (Fri) to 9.30 (Fri), about 30 regional cooperation programs will be held in all areas of Seoul, including pre-event programs, in which Seoul startup support organizations will participate.

From September 21 (Wed) to September 23 (Fri), a total of 40 startup-specialized programs will be held at the event venue (Dongdaemun Design Plaza) in which partner organizations of global conglomerates and global investment organizations in cooperation with the Seoul Industry Promotion Agency will participate.

In addition, through a customized meet-up system, the contact points will be expanded between investors (VCs) and startups to support investment attraction of excellent startups. Startups in the information and communication technology (ICT) and Bio fields who want to meet with investors can apply for an online meet-up from June 28 (Tue).
Startup companies with excellent backgrounds such as intellectual property (IP) creation, domestic and foreign investment attraction, global commercialization and market development, etc. can participate.

Startups that have applied will be provided with opportunities to establish business cooperation and networks with investors/accelerators (VC/AC) by business status and participation stage or receive professional consultations from the Seoul Business Support Center. During the event, the companies will participate in an offline in-depth meet-up with investors.

In 2020-2021, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, 3,511 meet-ups were held. Startups with excellent innovative technologies have attracted a total of 57.5 billion won in investment.
